Pakistan’s art culture is mostly inherited from Indian culture which dates back to Aryan invasion in the sub-continent. During the past decades, Pakistan’s music industry has progressed a lot. With the seniors being the mentors and the trendsetters in the field, newcomers have so much to look upon.
Music in subcontinent was considered as an integral part of socio-religious life. Both, Muslims and Hindus loved to listen to music and were pretty much attracted towards it. Some used them as a way to preach religion, others enjoyed the melodious tunes for the relaxation of mind and soul.
Pakistan’s Exclusive Music Scene
After the creation of Pakistan, the artists of the country felt the responsibility of setting a benchmark and providing the juniors with something to learn. So, despite being crushed under the weight of no to zero resources, artists started proving that “If there is a will, there is a way”. Hence this field of art was not left untouched, rather many of the artist entered this hard work requiring field in spite of knowing the present situation of those times.
Weather it was Classic music or the Qawwali music, soft pop or rock music, desi hip hop or rap songs, singers of Pakistan started making music in all these genres hence making us all proud.
Other than the above mentioned genres, the Music of Pakistan includes diverse elements ranging from music from various parts of South Asia as well as Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and modern-day Western popular music influences.
